If you’re a single mom, you know that taking care of your children is always your top priority. However, it’s important to remember that taking care of yourself is just as crucial. After becoming a single mother, I found myself neglecting my own needs and interests. The daily routine of caring for my children and running a household left me feeling unfulfilled and lacking in hobbies.

But I realized that I needed to make a change. I wanted to rekindle my passions, rediscover my interests, and get to know myself better. That’s when I discovered the beauty of solo dating.

Solo dating is not about rushing into a new relationship but rather taking the time to explore and enjoy your own company. It’s an opportunity to engage in activities that you enjoy, learn new things about yourself, and rekindle your passions. From hiking and painting to trying new restaurants and attending concerts, the possibilities are endless.

At first, the idea of going out alone can be intimidating. But as you start to embrace solo dating, you’ll find that it’s liberating and empowering. You’ll become more confident in yourself and your ability to enjoy life on your own terms. So, when the time comes to consider dating again, you’ll be more selective and take your time because you know that being alone is something you’re perfectly comfortable with.

How To Plan Your Solo Date

Step 1: Decide what activity you’ll do.

You can list the activities and decide which one you’ll do when the kids are away.

Step 2: Add it to your calendar.

My goal is to do these activities when the kids are away with their day so that I can get to know myself better with no interruptions. You may want to doc the same thing or do it when you can. So choose a day that you know works well for you and write it in your calendar.

Step 3: Enjoy!

It’s important that you put as much effort into your solo dates as you would if you were planning a date with someone else. You’re important too and you should take the time to enjoy your own company. Although some of the activities may be uncomfortable, take the time to be in the moment and really get to know yourself.
